Juniors from Passaic High School embarked on an enriching field trip to William Paterson University (WPUNJ), gaining valuable insights into higher education and potential career paths. The day was packed with activities designed to expose students to various academic disciplines and the vibrant university environment.
The trip, organized to support students enrolled in the Financial Well-Being, Education, AP Spanish Language & Culture, Film & Television Production 2, and Principles of Marketing & Management Dual Enrollment Pathways, provided a unique opportunity to experience college life firsthand.
The day began bright and early, with all participating students and chaperones reporting to the Passaic High School auditorium at 7:45 am. Promptly at 8:00 am, students boarded buses at the marquee entrance, setting off for the scenic WPU campus.
Upon arrival, students were greeted by WPU representatives and embarked on a comprehensive general campus tour. This tour allowed students to familiarize themselves with the university’s facilities, including academic buildings, libraries, and student centers.
Following the campus tour, students attended an informative Admissions/ASPIRE/Honors College session. This session provided crucial information about the admissions process, scholarship opportunities, and the unique programs offered by WPU, including the ASPIRE program and the Honors College.
Immediately after, students enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Dining Hall, experiencing the university’s dining facilities and interacting with fellow classmates in a relaxed setting.
The afternoon focused on content-specific tours tailored to the students’ respective pathways. There, students engaged in specialized sessions, exploring the departments and resources relevant to their areas of interest. This provided in-depth exposure to the academic opportunities available at WPU related to finance, education, Spanish language and culture, film and television production, and marketing and management.
