Passaic High School students came together this December to deliver comfort and care to neighbors in need. Members of DECA’s Academy of Finance, alongside the PHS Bible Club and Student Council, spent the day assembling food boxes and organizing produce for distribution with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Thanks to their teamwork, 150 local families received groceries and holiday staples to help make the season a little brighter.
Working in assembly-line fashion on the auditorium stage, volunteers sorted donated goods, packed boxes, and staged rows of ready-to-go meal kits. Students checked lists, sealed packages, and stacked pallets—making sure every box had the essentials for a balanced family meal. Throughout the event, volunteers encouraged one another, kept spirits high, and moved efficiently to meet the day’s goal.
For PHS students, the event reinforced leadership and organizational skills—planning inventory, tracking counts, and coordinating roles. The collaboration showcased how different student organizations can combine strengths to make a measurable impact.
The Community FoodBank of NJ provided guidance, supplies, and distribution support, helping the student teams translate enthusiasm into action. By partnering with the FoodBank, PHS students connected classroom values—responsibility, service, and empathy—to a tangible community outcome.
