The Hilltop Star Online is the official student‑run news publication of Passaic High School. Our mission is to inform, celebrate, and represent the diverse voices of our school community through responsible journalism and meaningful storytelling. We cover school events, student achievements, academics, athletics, arts, clubs, and the programs that make PHS unique, including CTE pathways, NJROTC, and PHS Productions.
Our Mission
We aim to:
- Provide accurate, relevant, and timely reporting on events and issues that matter to Passaic High School students, families, and staff.
- Highlight the accomplishments, talents, and experiences of our students across academics, sports, clubs, and media production programs.
- Uphold high standards of journalistic integrity, fairness, and inclusivity.
- Create real-world learning opportunities for aspiring writers, filmmakers, editors, photographers, and digital creators.
Who We Are
The Hilltop Star staff is made up of students from various grades, programs, and academies who contribute reporting, photography, video, and multimedia content. Staff members work collaboratively under the guidance of a faculty adviser and follow the procedures of a functioning newsroom. Roles include section editors, reporters, photographers, videographers, and digital content editors.
